Commission & Community Organizations Upcoming Acitivities
(ADM) African Diaspora Marketplace Business Plan Competition
Eighty (80) individuals and businesses have signed to compete for $100,000 in cash and technical assistance to individuals living in the United States who have an interest in expanding their business or starting up a new business in Africa. The Commission has developed a partnership with the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, Temple Small Business Development Center, and the Wharton Small Business Development Center to provide technical assistance to individuals or business plan.




(ACBC) African Caribbean Business Council
ACBC will hold a Business Roundtable on January 20, 2012 in collaboration with the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. President of ACBC, Dr. Azuka Anyiam will host ambassadors from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Trinidad and Tobago in Philadelphia and Trenton. Healthcare Consortium
The Commission will be organizing a Healthcare Consortium to include Lincoln University, Cheyney University, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and the Laborer’s District Council of Greater Philadelphia. The team will be working in the Greater Philadelphia Region and in Liberia and Nigeria.
Dr. Lydia Foucan is the director of the Department of Public Health at the University Hospital in Guadeloupe. Dr. Foucan is doing research on Cardiac Metabolic Risk and its impact on Africans and peoples of the African Diaspora

Raphia Noumbissi is the Founding Director of SHAHICA Foundation. She works to serve orphans affected by the HIV virus.in her native country of Cameroon. On February 10, 2012, she wil host a Medical Lecture with Dr. Helene Kwakwa.on important health issues related to the Philadelphia community.
